Abstract
The method of synthesis of zinc dimolybdate pentahydrate ZnMo 2 O 7 · 5 H 2 O has been elaborated. The crystal structure has been solved by X-ray powder diffraction methods. The space group of ZnMo 2 O 7 · 5 H 2 O is P 2 1 / c (14), with lattice parameters: 6.0021(9), 18.886(3), 8.725 ( 1 ) A ˚ , β = 93.85 ( 1 ) ∘ , V = 986.8 ( 2 ) A ˚ 3 . The decomposition of ZnMo 2 O 7 · 5 H 2 O in air and nitrogen was studied in situ by X-ray diffraction. Results of crystal structure determination and refinement by the Rietveld method, as well as results of IR and TGA, DTA studies performed for ZnMo 2 O 7 · 5 H 2 O , are presented.
