Abstract

Liquid crystals technique for drug delivery can be effective and useful for delivering the drug with desired target and it also stabilise the molecule. Previously, we synthesised a series of 4'-[{2"-(4-alkoxyphenyl)-5"-oxooxazol-4"-ylidene}methyl]phenyl-4-alkoxybenzoate by condensation of 4-n-alkoxy benzoyl glycine with 4-formyl-phenyl 4-alkoxybenzoate. In present work, we have synthesised 4'-[{2"-alkyl-5"-oxooxazol-4"-ylidene}methyl]phenyl-4-alkoxybenzoate by condensation of acetyl glycine with 4-formyl-phenyl 4-alkoxybenzoate. The structure of all the synthesised compounds are characterised by spectral analysis and purity of the compounds were checked by TLC. The LC property was checked under polarising microscope attached with Linkam heating stage and confirmed by differential scanning calorimetric analysis.
