Synthesis by aerosol process of superconductor films and buffer layer materials

Abstract

In this work the synthesis of thin and thick films using the aerosol deposition technique for the synthesis of coated conductors is realized. (Hg,Re)-1223 and Y-123 superconductors and Y/sub 2/O/sub 3/ buffer layer were obtained. High temperature deposition was used for MgO[100], Ag (nontextured) and LaAlO/sub 3/[100] substrates, respectively. With a preheated substrate it is possible to synthesize the phase in-situ in the case of Y-123 and Y/sub 2/O/sub 3/. The mercurocuprate needs an ex-situ mercuration step.
