Abstract
Chemoselective oxidation of the phenylthio-substituted Fischer carbene complex ( 7) generates the corresponding sulfinyl complex ( 8) in high yield, which upon mild thermolysis affords the chelated tetracarbonyl complex ( 10). The structure of both ( 8) and ( 10) have been unambiguously assigned by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies.
