Abstract
The synthesis of the cis–trans–trans5 and trans–cis–cis6 macrocyclic trienones from cyclohexene is described. Upon heating at 300 °C, trienone 5 underwent 1,5-H shift and transannular Diels–Alder reaction to give adducts 33, 34, and 35 while trienone 6 provided tricyclic ketone 37.
