Abstract

Distribution of cations (Na, K, Cs, Sr) between kosnarite solid solutions differing in the framework composition (Ti/Zr, P/Si) and aqueous solutions at 200°C was studied. The energies of mixing of kosnarite solid solutions and specific features of the cation exchange correlate with the crystallochemical factors: framework charge and size ratio of the framework-forming and out-of-framework cations. The results obtained can be used for developing a process for the recovery of radionuclides from liquid radioactive waste with their subsequent immobilization in the form of isomorphic components of a crystalline solid solution.
