Abstract

Potassium uranates K2U6O19 and K2U4O13·2.2H2O were synthesized by the reaction of aqueous solutions of uranyl acetate with aqueous solutions of potassium nitrate under hydrothermal conditions at 200°C. The compounds were examined by chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and differential thermal analysis. The decomposition of the compounds was studied.
