Abstract

Previously unknown individual crystalline compounds MIIIU3O10.5·6H2O were obtained by the reaction of synthetic schoepite UO3·2.25H2O with aqueous solutions of La, Ce, Pr, Nd, and Sm nitrates in hydrothermal conditions at 200°C. Their composition and structure were determined, and the processes of dehydration and thermal decomposition were studied by the methods of chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and scanning calorimetry.
