Abstract
Donor-acceptor Pt→Ag bonds formed by reactions between anionic platinum complexes and silver salts or complexes are the subject of this review. We discuss their structural features and the role played by the charge of the anions and by o-X…Ag interactions in the stability and spatial arrangement of the resulting heteronuclear complexes. The extension of these studies to other M→M′ systems is briefly commented.
