Abstract

Abstract Hydride abstraction from a hydrosilyliron complex FpSiH(p-Tol)2 (1: Fp = CpFe(CO)2, Cp =η-C5H5, p-Tol = 4-C6H4Me) with Ph3CPF6 in the presence of HMPA (HMPA = P(O)(NMe2)3) afforded a cationic silyleneiron complex stabilized by HMPA [Fp=Si(p-Tol)2·HMPA]PF6 (2) in 88% yield. The X-ray crystal structure analysis of 2 revealed the relatively long Fe-Si bond and the short Si-O dative bond compared to those of the known donor-stabilized silylene complexes.
