Abstract

A novel mixed-ligand cluster complex of the composition K7[{Re4As0.75(AsO)2,25Te}(CN)12]·9H2O is obtained by a high-temperature reaction of ReI3, As, and Te with KCN followed by recrystallization from an aqueous solution. The structure of the complex is determined by X-ray crystallography. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic crystal system, space group $$P\overline 1 $$ with unit cell parameters a= 11.6777(4) A, b = 11.8627(3) A, c = 16.5280(5) A, α = 95.3590(10)°, β = 92.8170(10)°, γ = 117.9830(10)°, V = 2001.80(10) A3, Z = 2. The crystal structure consists of K+ cations, the cluster [{Re4As0.75(AsO)2.25Te}(CN)12]7− anion, and nine solvate H2O molecules.
