Abstract

Abstract In order to obtain a pentacoordinate hypervalent carbon compound with two strong apical bonds, a new compound bearing the novel skeleton 4 was synthesized by the two-electron oxidation of 9 followed by deprotonation. The X-ray diffraction data and the NMR spectra showed that the structure of 4 is not pentacoordinate, but tetracoordinate.
