Abstract

A series of thiazolyl-pyrazoline derivatives containing the quinoline moiety were obtained by condensation of 2-bromo-1-phenyl-ethanone and 3-aryl-5-(2-substituted-quinolin-3-yl)-1-thiocarbamoyl-pyrazolines (4a-f). The structures of the newly synthesized compounds were characterized and their structures confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis. The solid-state structure of 3-(4-chlorophenyl)-5-(2-phenylthio-quinolin-3-yl)-1-(4-phenyl-2-thiazoyl)-pyrazoline (5n) was further studied by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
