Abstract

The reaction of MoO(OH)3 with acetylacetone in aqueous solution leads to formation of paramagnetic Mo2O3(acac)4 (1) and [Mo2O4(acac)2(H2O)2] · H2O(2), depending on the reaction conditions. Synthesis of both complexes is described and the results of structural investigations (i.r., u.v.-vis., e.s.r. spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility) are reported.
