Abstract

AbstractDivinyldimethylsilane (1), divinyldiphenylsilane (2), divinyltetramethyldisiloxane (3) and divinyltetraethoxydisiloxane (4) in the presence of [{RuCl2(CO)3}2] (I) as a catalyst undergo effective silylative coupling (SC) polycondensation giving stereoselectively trans‐tactic polymers (5–8) (Mw=3800–8500), yield 75–84%. The products isolated and characterized by 1H and 13C NMR and GPC methods cannot be synthesized via ADMET polymerization. Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
