Abstract

A three-dimensional open-framework tin(II) phosphate [Sn4(PO4)3]-·0.5[C4N2H12]2+ has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions using piperazine as the template. Its framework is built up from strictly alternating SnO3 and PO4 units that form eight-membered-ring channels along the [100] direction in which the diprotonated piperazine molecules are entrapped.
