Abstract

Bis{[1′-(diphenylphosphino)ferrocenyl]methyl}ether (3) was prepared in two steps from the [1′-(diphenylphosphino)ferrocenyl]methanol−borane (1:1) adduct and structurally characterized. Compound 3 reacted with copper(I) halides to afford structurally similar, cyclic binuclear complexes of the type [CuX{μ(P,P′)-3}]2 (X = Cl, Br and I) featuring equivalent Cu(I) centers with trigonal P2X donor sets symmetrically bridged by the diphosphine ligand.
