Abstract
AbstractAn expedient and practical variant of the synthesis of the selective dopamine autoreceptor agonist 5 from the benzindolone 1 is described. The reaction sequence includes a two‐fold epimerization at the α‐position of the lactam function. The structure of the intermediate 9a was confirmed by X‐ray structure analysis.
