Abstract
AbstractThe synthesis of diindolylmethyl cations by reaction of aldehydes and indoles is described, and their reaction with Grignard reagents, organo‐lithium compounds and sodium borohydride, giving the corresponding diindolyl methanes, is reported. The analogous phenyl indolylmethyl cations could never be isolated, but their formation was proved indirectly.
