Abstract

1. It has been shown that pure 2-vinyloxyethylamine does not polymerize in presence of benzoyl peroxide under the conditions used. 2. The copolymerization of 2-vinyloxyethylamine and methyl methacrylate has been effected in presence of benzoyl peroxide. 3. It has been shown that, together with copolymerization, the formation of a new substance, methyl 2-methyl-3-(2-vinyloxyethylarnino)proptonate, occurs. 4. It has been pointed out that, in the course of the formation of the macromolecular compounds. not only double bonds, but also other functional groups of the original components, take part in the reaction. 5. Polymers of methyl methacrylate were absent in the reaction products.
