Synthesis and reactions of chiral tetrahedral clusters containing an COOCH3 functional group

Abstract

The new cluster [CoRuW(CO) 8 (μ 3 -S)(η 5 -C 5 H 4 COOCH 3 )] 2 was isolated from the reaction of [Co 2 Ru(CO) 9 (μ 3 -S) 1 with Na[W(CO) 3 (η 5 -C 5 H 4 COOCH 3 )]. Through the further reaction of cluster 2 with n-propylamine, a new cluster [CoRuW(CO) 8 (μ 3 -S) (η 5 -C 5 H 4 CONH-C 3 H 7 )] 3 was obtained and the structure of cluster 2 has been established by single crystal X-ray diffraction.
