Abstract

The straightforward, rapid synthesis and purification of radiochemically pure [1- 32P]fructose-1,6-bisphosphate starting from radioactively labeled inorganic phosphate is described. The product has a relatively high specific radioactivity (2 × 10 5 Ci/mol). Using this method, carrier-free [1- 32P]fructose-1,6-bisphosphate could be obtained. The use of [1- 32P]fructose-1,6-bisphosphate in the assay of fructose bisphosphatase is illustrated.
