Abstract

The reaction of sulfuryl chloride with ammonium salts of alkylene (dialkyl)dithiophosphate, ;G = ─CH2 CH 2 CHMe, ─CH 2 C(Me) 2 CH 2 -, (RO) 2 PS 2 NH 4 , and R = i-C 3 H 7 ; in 1:1 and 1:2 molar ratios in refluxing benzene yields orange-yellow semisolids of the type (RO) 2 PS 2 R, OGOPS 2 R′, (RO)2 PS 2R″, and OGOPS2 2 R″, where R′ = SO 2 Cl and R″ = SO 2 ], which are hygroscopic in nature. These newly synthesized complexes have been characterized by physico-chemical and spectroscopic techniques (MW, IR, 1 H, and 31 P NMR). On the basis of the above studies, the formation of (S)-P-S-S chemical linkage has been established.
