Abstract

Structurally well-defined mesoporous materials with large surface area and homogeneous pore diameters have been intensively investigated in recent years, furthermore, organofunctionalized mesoporous materials have attracted much attention for their potential application in many fields, such as separation, adsorption and drug delivery. In this paper, fluorescent mesoporous materials were successfully synthesized through “Grafting” method by mesoporous materials and silicon nanocrystals. A comprehensive multi-analytical characterization of the structural and optical properties of the fluorescent materials was carried by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption–desorption measurements, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscope. The behavior of loading and release to ibuprofen has been tested. The fluorescent materials which integrated with two functional components displayed potential in optoelectronic and biomedical applications.
