Abstract

Several new dialkyldibenzene disulfonate Gemini surfactants with high viscosity have been synthesized by a new method and analysed by 1H NMR, ESI-MS, and IR. The influence of spacer and alkyl chain length on their melting temperatures and Krafft temperatures were researched. These surfactants exhibit special viscoelastic properties even in dilute solutions without addictives, which can be observed visually and also researched by cone-plate rheometer at different concentrations.
