Abstract
A novel type of linear bipolar compound, 2, 7-di(2-thienyl)fluoren-9-one (DTFO), was synthesized via Suzuki coupling reaction and was employed as a red-light organic electroluminescence material. The structure and electronic properties of DTFO were simulated; chemical structure of DTFO was identified. Moreover, its photo physical properties, thermal stability and film formability were characterized in detail. The analog results indicate that the structure of DTFO is nearly flat and linear structure with alternating conjugate. In photoluminescence spectra, DTFO exhibits a maximum emission peak at 616 nm, which emits strong red light. In addition, both the thermal stability and film formability are excellent for this novel material.
