Abstract

AbstractThe radical polymerization of diglycidyl fumarates was performed to give the poly(fumarate)s bearing epoxy groups in the side chains. Their post‐polymerization modification with carbon dioxide afforded the poly(fumarate)s containing the five‐membered cyclic carbonate structures by the reaction of epoxy groups in the polymer side chains with carbon dioxide. Besides, the thermal stability and behavior of the obtained poly(fumarate)s were examined by thermogravimetric and differential scanning calorimetry analyses.
