Abstract

Poly[3-(2-methoxyphenyl)thiophene] (PMP-Th) nanowires array was fabricated by electrochemical deposition method using anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membrane with various diameters as template. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were employed to characterize the morphologies of the liberated nanowires and the PMP-Th/AAO composite. The detailed structure and optical property of the PMP-Th nanowires in AAO were characterized by FT-IR and UV–vis absorption spectroscopy. Photoluminescence (PL) spectra showed that the PMP-Th nanowires in AAO exhibit an obvious blue-shift and great intensity enhancement compared to the film electropolymerized on Pt which is attributed to Föster energy transfer from AAO to PMP-Th molecule.
