Abstract

Blue luminescent 2,6-naphthalene-based homopolymer and copolymers were synthesized by Yamamoto method using Ni(cod)2 and Pd-catalyzed Suzuki coupling, respectively. Two kinds of substituents, an electron rich 3,6,9-trioxaundecyloxy (a) and a bulky 2-isopropyl-5-methylhexyloxy (b), significantly suppressed excimeric emissions of polynaphthalenes in film states, which achieved pure blue photoluminescence.
