Abstract

In the present work, in order to investigate the effect of composition on the magnetic properties of nanoparticles, tri-metallic nanoparticles of Fe-Ni-Zn, Fe-Co-Zn and Co-Ni-Zn were prepared by co-precipitation method. Morphology of nanoparticles was studied by scanning electron microscopy technique (SEM). Also, the samples were characterized using resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Structure of nanoparticles was characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD). Magnetic properties of bulk and nanostructures were studied at room temperature with applied magnetic fields up to 10000 Oe with vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The ternary bulk samples of Fe-Ni-Zn, Fe-Co-Zn and Co-Ni-Zn as precursor showed paramagnetic behavior. After calcination, tri-metallic nanoparticles of Fe-Ni-Zn, Fe-Co-Zn and Co-Ni-Zn exhibited superparamagnetic, soft ferromagnetic and hard ferromagnetic behavior respectively.
