Abstract

Several Schiff bases derived from glyoxal and aromatic amines have not been fully investigated. Although a few references are available on these anils, the only anil worthy of mention is the pdimethyl amino ani1 of phenyl glyoxal which was condensed by Krohnke and Gross (2) to evaluate the bathochromic effect in the compounds in the presence of silica gel and Lewis acids.
