Abstract
Maleic anhydride was utilized to modify β-cyclodextrin into unsaturated amphiphilic functional monomer, which was copolymerized with acrylamide and acrylic acid to synthesize the novel water-soluble polymer containing β-cyclodextrin via radical polymerization. The optimal experimental conditions of reaction were determined through the single-factor variable method. The copolymer was characterized by means of FTIR and 1H NMR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope. Afterwards, a series of experiments were carried out to test temperature resistance and salt tolerance by comparing with polyacrylamide, which showed that copolymer possessed a better performance than PAM. Meanwhile, the viscosity properties of copolymer indicated that it has the potential to improve oil recovery efficiency.
