Abstract

New black matrix materials AAQ and DAAQ were synthesized for the first time through Suzuki C–N coupling. UV–visible spectra of the synthesized AAQ and DAAQ showed UV max values at 428 and 481 nm. It was found that DAAQ absorbed the entire range of visible light wavelengths, 400–800 nm. The electrochemical kinetic properties of the synthesized materials were evaluated via cyclic voltammetry at various scan rates 30–150 mV/s. As a result, exponent values of scan rate for AAQ and DAAQ were 0.31 and 0.43 and both compounds did not reach diffusion control process. Their electron active speeds were not fast but both materials showed high thermal stability as T d of 353 and 366 °C.
