Abstract

The spinel LiMn2O4 and Zn-doped LiMn2O4 samples were prepared by a solgol method followed by annealing. The structure and morphology of the as-prepared material were analyzed by X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy. The results obtained show that those samples possess a perfect spinel structure. The electrochemical measurements are carried out to study the properties of the LiMn2O4 and Zn-doped LiMn2O4. The results indicate that Zn-doped LiMn2O4 manifests enhanced high capability, rate capability, and superior cycling stability. Especially, the LiMn1.9Zn0.1O4 sample show good electrochemical performance (the reversible discharge capacity of 120 mAh/g at 1C, after 100 cycle).
