Abstract

In this paper we present the preliminary results of ZnSe crystal growth by liquid encapsulated Czochralski (LEC) technique. The influence of thermal conditions on the crystal growth process and the properties of the boules were studied. Investigation of physical parameters (resistivity measurements, photoluminescence, infrared transmission) showed the high purity of the obtained material and indicated that the LEC technique can be used for obtaining large single crystals of ZnSe.
