Abstract

A phosphorylated derivative of 4-nitrobenzaldehyde based on the Pudovik reaction, has been synthesized and characterized by X-ray, IR and NMR 1H, 31P and 13C spectroscopy. Single crystal X-ray diffraction showed that crystal is formed by the cation of N-didodecylphosphinoxido-4-nitrobenzyledenetetradecylammonium and the anion of 4-methylbenzenesulfonate in a 1:1 ratio and crystallizes in the triclinic space group P-1. Cations form dimers via N–H⋯O contacts with phosphoryl oxygen.
