Abstract
A modified Skraup reaction was carried out on 2-aminobenzo-[f] quinoline, in the presence of sulfo-mix, using ferrous sulfate and boric acid. This reaction gave the linear type product, naphtho-[2,1-b] [1,5] naphthyridine but not the angular type. Its crystal structure was determined by X-ray analysis
