Abstract

Bi(OCPh 3) 3 has been prepared and isolated and its structure established by X-ray crystallography. Bi(OCPh 3) 3 has been found to have a three-coordinate structure, unlike its silyl analogue, due to π interactions between the Lewis acidic metal and one β-phenyl ring of each alkoxide ligand.
