Abstract
The title compound, C15H14O3, crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group Pbcm, with cell constants a = 9.751(3)A, b = 18.136(6)A, c = 7.004(2)A and Z = 4. The 1-(2-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)ethanone part of the molecule is located on the crystallographic mirror plane. The strong intramolecular hydrogen bond O17-H17…O1 is observed. The molecular packing is influenced by the presence of π…π interactions.
