Abstract
• Linear poly(glycidol) esters were synthesized as novel nonionic surfactants. • Physical and biological evaluations were conducted to establish a structure–property profile. • Length of alkyl side chains revealed significant impact on the functional performance. Herein, a series of linear poly(glycidol) esters were synthesized as novel nonionic surfactants. Their surface activities, emulsifying capacities, thermal stabilities as well as hemolytic activities were comprehensively investigated to establish a structure–property profile, which clearly revealed the impact of different lengths of alkyl side chains on the associated functional performance. Therefore, our study offered a valuable reference for their potential practical applications.
