Abstract

Novel vanadium containing molecular sieves VAPO-31 and VAPO-41 have been synthesized. XRD and SEM analysis confirm the phase purity of the synthesized samples. TG/DTA analysis suggests the incorporation of V 4+ in the aluminophosphate framework. ESR, and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques, and cyclic voltammetric studies confirm the incorporation of V and reveal its presence in tetrahedral and square pyramidal environments in the as-synthesized samples. Cyclic voltammetry reveals the presence of two and three redox couples in VAPO-41 and VAPO-31, respectively. VAPO-31 is found to be a good catalyst for n-hexane oxyfunctionalization.
