Abstract
A specific polyamide-amide block copolymer with monomers of triethyleneglycol bis(4-carboxypheny)ether(PEG3),4,4'-diamino-3,3'-dimethylbiphenyl and e-caprolactam was synthesized via condensation copolymerization.FT-IR,1H-NMR,POM,DSC and WAXD analyses of samples elicit that this new type of block copolymer can demonstrate liquid crystalline characteristics.By contrast to thermotropic homopolyamide liquid crystalline(TLCP),the thermal dynamic properties of the thermotropic liquid crystalline copolyamide containing N6(TLCP-N6)were modified. This block copolymer can show nematic phase in a wide temperature range, and is able to form morphologic textures of solidification-induced band and shear stripes under certain conditions.
