Abstract

The lanthanide chloride complexes with the ligand N, N, N′, N′-tetraphenyl-3,6-dioxaoctanedioic diamide (TDD) have been prepared in an ethanol-chloroform solution. These new complexes with general formula [Ln(TDD)Cl 2(H 2O) 2]Cl(Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm-Er) have been characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, IR spectra, f-f electronic spectra, 1H NMR spectra and TG-DTA techniques. In all the complexes, the ligand TDD shows quadridentate behaviour.
