Abstract
The synthesis and isolation of tin porphyrins with a metal-carbon bond is described. The investigated compounds are represented as (P)Sn(CH 3 )I, where P is the dianion of octaethylporphyrin (OEP), tetra-p-tolylporphyrin (TpTP), tetra-m-tolylporphyrin (TmTP), or tetramesitylporphyrin (TMP). The (P)Sn(CH 3 )I complexes were prepared by reacting (P)Sn II with methyl iodide in THF.
