Abstract
The lanthanide(III) perchlorato complexes of hydrazones of isonicotinic acid hydrazide, viz. N-isonicotinamido- p-dimethylaminobenzalaldimine (INH-PDAB) and N-isonicotinamido-3-methoxy-4-hydroxybenzalaldimine (INH-VAN) of the type Ln(ClO 4) 3·4(INH-PDAB) or Ln(ClO 4) 3·4(INH-VAN) (Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb or Dy) have been synthesized and characterized by analytical, magnetochemical, IR and UV-vis spectral methods. The thermal stabilities of these compounds have also been investigated.
