Abstract

Some mixed ligand complexes of cobalt(II) containing ethylenediamine, picoline, lutidine and imidazole have been synthesized and characterized by visible, IR and NMR spectrometry. They all appear to have a cis configuration. The strength of metal to ligand bond in comparison to proton to ligand bond is found to be weaker in picoline and pyridine complexes and stronger in imidazole complexes.
