Abstract

Semi-organic single crystal p-Toluidinium phosphonate (PTP) was grown by slow evaporation technique. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the PTP crystal belongs to triclinic system with space group P1¯. The optical transmission study revealed the transparency of the crystal in the entire visible region and cut off wavelength was found to be 267 nm. Photoluminescence studies show that emission is independent of excitation wavelength. The dielectric constant (e’) and dielectric loss (tan δ) as a function of frequency were measured for the grown crystal. The nonlinear refractive index (n2) and nonlinear absorption coefficient (β) were also determined by using Z-scan technique.
