Abstract

Polyaniline(PANI)/CoxCr0.5-xFe2O4(x=0, 0.1, 0.3)nanocomposites with high electromagnetic shielding effectiveness were synthesized via in situ polymerization method. PANI/ CoxCr0.5-xFe2O4(x=0, 0.1, 0.3)nanocomposites were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Field emission scanning electron microscopyand Vibrating sample magnetometer techniques. Further, Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) shielding effectiveness (SE) studies have been carried out as a function of frequency at room temperature for PANI/ CoxCr0.5-xFe2O4(x=0, 0.1, 0.3)nanocomposites. Conduction mechanisms in PANI/ CoxCr0.5-xFe2O4(x=0, 0.1, 0.3)nanocomposites are in accordance with the electron hopping model. Further, SE was found to decrease with an increase in the applied frequency in all the synthesized samples. In the present work SE values for Polyaniline/CoxCr0.5-xFe2O4(x=0, 0.1, 0.3)nanocompositesincreases with increase in the Copper content in the composite.
