Abstract

Poly(vinyl carbazole-co-ethoxy ethyl methacrylate) Poly(VK-co-EOEMA) was prepared through free radical solution polymerization. The non-functionalized silica (SiO2) and alumina (Al2O3) nanoparticles were added into the polymeric matrix to yield polymer nanocomposite by blending technique. The compatibility of the polymer with nanoparticles were examined by Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) studies. The morphological changes due to the addition of nanoparticles was observed using Scanning Electron Microsphere (SEM). Thermal analysis of the polymer and its nanocomposites was performed by Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA). An optical property of the polymer and its nanocomposites was carried out using UV–Vis spectroscopy.
