Abstract

Complexes of the general formulae [Pt(trpy)(cpy)]NO 3 , where cpy = pyridine-2-carboxylic acid, pyridine-3-carboxylic and pyridine-4-carboxylic acid ( 1 )–( 3 ), have been synthesized and characterized. The molecular structure of ( 3 ) has been determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction. The resin-immobilized ligand Lys-Lys-4-CO-py (L) interacts with the [Pt(trpy)H 2 O](NO 3 ) 2 via solid phase synthesis, forming the complex [Pt(trpy)(4-CO-py-Lys 1 -Lys 2 CONH 2 )](NO 3 ) 4 , which has been characterized by 1 H NMR and mass spectrometry. Mixed ligand Pt(II) complexes with 2,2′:6′,2″ terpyridine and pyridine carboxylic acids have been synthesized and characterized. The resin-immobilized ligand Lys 2 -Lys 1 -4-CO-py interacts with [Pt(trpy)(H 2 O)](NO 3 ) 2 , forming via solid phase synthesis the complex [Pt(trpy)(4-CO-py-Lys 1 -Lys 2 CONH 2 )](NO 3 ) 4 . • Formation of Pt-N bond via solid phase synthesis. • A general synthetic method for Pt(II) oligopyridine peptide conjugates. • Structural characterization of complex [Pt(trpy)(pyridine-4-carboxylic acid)](NO 3 ).
